Senior portraits are one of my favorite things that I don’t get to do very often. High school seniors are always so open to new and creative ideas which makes it fun. Plus they are also so stylish and I always love the results of our sessions. In fact, I’m looking for a few models to do some creative/urban shoots. Contact me if you are interested!
Meet Owen, class of 2017! Owen is a whizz with robotics and even competes with his school. He also plays trumpet in the school band. (As a former band geek myself I was so happy to hear that!) He really liked the industrial feel I’ve used with some other portraits, so we decided to go downtown for Owen’s senior portraits. Part of the joy of going downtown is that because of all the construction that has been going on for years, you never really know what kind of locations you will have access to.
I usually try to get to my locations about 15-20 minutes early to scope it out. I saw this cool green door in front of a brick wall and knew we had to use it! Another location that all my clients love is the red alley way. Then we went to some other out of the way places before going to the waterfront to get the panoramic city shot. The sun was already setting when we got there, and I think our final image turned out pretty good. One thing you have to consider when choosing a urban location is sunset time. You are competing with tall buildings, so the sun will set a little earlier than in a more rural setting or a park.
Please, check out all of Owen’s images and leave a comment to let me know what you think! I’m currently looking for 2018 senior models, so contact me if you are interested.
