There is some kind of wonderful magic in childhood. I think thats why there is such a nostalgia-craze right now. Tv shows are coming back, movies are remade, and all the blog post: only 80’s kids will remember this or you weren’t a true 90’s kid if you didn’t have this. We are all trying to go back and recreate some of that wonderous joy we had as children. I don’t know if we can ever get it back as adults, but I do know we can capture it as children. My favorite part of being a child photographer is to document the joy and magic of childhood; to let a child dress up as their favorite character or a princess and play.
Evie wanted to become a princess/ballerina, and I think we really pulled it off with this dress and two head pieces from Rainey’s Closet. She also played the part very well, sometimes serious, sometimes hysterically laughing. One of my favorite things to do with girls is to ask them to twirl. Trust me, girls of all ages love to twirl in dresses! And she twirled and spun and then collapsed with laughter! Children have a way of letting a little giggle turn into a fit of unguarded laughter that I’ve never seen an adult be able to do. I love sharing that time with them, and turning those special moments into artwork for their parents!
