If you’ve ever driven down Shelbyville Road in Middletown, you’ve probably seen a sign for the Barre Code. And if you’re like me, or my mom, you’ve wondered what that could be. “Is that a store? Or maybe a salon, I see mirrors.” Well, I’m so excited to share with you today this week’s business spotlight: the Barre Code! I met with the beautiful Amanda Hiner, owner and master trainer, last week to learn a little bit more about this amazing studio. One of the first things you’ll notice when you first walk in, besides the beautiful and welcoming decor, blow out bar, and friendly atmosphere, is the code of the studio:
The Barre Code is not just your typical fitness studio. It’s emphasizes your inner strength, as well as outer strength, for accepting your beauty and loving your body. They focus on needs of women by using cardio, strength training and restoration to give you the most efficient work out possible. There are seven different types of classes: from classic barre, hot barre, brawl which is similar to kickboxing, high intensity intervals, boot camp class, and hot baryasa to restore your tired muscles. And they change up the classes every week, so you’ll never get bored. All the classes are for any fitness level and can be modified to become more difficult, or if you’re like me and never taken a barre class, easier. And for all of you expectant mommas, low impact barre is great to keep you in shape before and after delivery.
Just by talking to Amanda for a few minutes you know that she is very passionate about fitness, women’s health and about building a community of strong women by teaching them to love themselves, and to become strong and healthy instead of focusing on a scale or a dress size. She and her other trainers are focused on connecting with their clients on an emotional level to challenge them mentally, as well as physically, to make increase their overall strength through fitness. Amanda’s authentic love of the Barre Code and improving women through was so contagious, that it made me want to sign up right there! If you’d like to try it out yourself they offer your first class for FREE! Just check out their website and use the code:FREEB. I plan on trying them within the next few weeks! And if you have any experience at the Barre Code you’d like to share I’d love for you to leave a comment below.
